Cyprus Gears Up to Become a Leading AI Hub
Limassol, Cyprus – 8 November 2025
CGL Group, together with a network of strategic partners, announces the Artificial Intelligence Forum 2025 (AIForum 2025), a full-day conference dedicated to the future of artificial intelligence in Cyprus. The event will take place on 24 November 2025 at Parklane Resort & Spa in Limassol, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, investors and technology experts to explore how AI can drive sustainable growth across the island’s economy.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping sectors ranging from finance and real estate to healthcare, entertainment, biotechnology and cloud computing. Both the National Strategy on AI in Cyprus and wider European Union priorities highlight AI as a critical pillar for competitiveness and innovation. AIForum 2025 is designed to translate those strategic ambitions into concrete connections, investments and knowledge-sharing opportunities for the local and international ecosystem.
“Our goal is to make AIForum 2025 the meeting point for everyone serious about AI in Cyprus – from founders and investors to regulators, lawyers, educators and corporate leaders,” said Sergey Chudinov, CEO of CGL Group and moderator of the Forum’s closing session on Cyprus as a leading AI jurisdiction.
A Full-Day Programme Focused on Business Impact, Infrastructure and Cyprus’ AI Future
The Forum runs from 08:30 to 18:00 and is structured into three main sections, balancing keynote talks, panel-style sessions and networking breaks:
1. The influence of AI on business and the investment market
The day opens with registration and welcome coffee (08:30–09:30), followed by a welcome address from Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus and Chairman of the National AI Taskforce.
The first section then examines how AI is transforming business models and capital flows, including contributions from:
• Christiana Aristidou, Founder & Managing Partner at The Hybrid LawTech Firm (moderator)
• Joseph Karis, ICT Standards Expert at the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS), outlining European and international standards on AI
• Artem Chernevskiy, Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (AI), exploring AI coaching as an emerging multi-billion-dollar industry
• Yair Shacked, Founder of GIGADAYS and Board-Level Strategic AI Advisor, explaining where and how AI creates real business value
• Nikolas Markou, Head of AI and Managing Partner at Electi Consulting, on surviving the AI bubble and what comes after it
2. Building AI infrastructure and skills
The second section focuses on AI infrastructure, education and talent – foundations needed to keep Cyprus competitive. Moderated by Panis Pieri, startup blogger, growth hacker and founder of Panis.News, this part of the programme features:
• Andrey Kostyuk, former fintech founder, business angel and EMCC-accredited startup mentor, on how “regular people” can invest in AI
• Vanessa Antoniadou, Senior Solution Sales Specialist – AI Workforce at Microsoft, on unlocking AI and digital transformation for growth
• Savvas Savvides, Senior Partner (Paphos office) at Michael Kyprianou Law Firm, exploring liability and accountability in AI decision-making
• Elpidoforos Anastasiou, Director of Technology and Innovation at The Cyprus Investment Hub, sharing nine lessons from nine years in innovation and investment
3. Cyprus as a leading IT–AI jurisdiction
The final section looks outward: how can Cyprus position itself as one of the world’s leading AI-friendly jurisdictions? Moderated by Sergey Chudinov, CEO at CGL Group, this session combines global technical perspectives with local relevance, including:
• Igor Akimov, Founder of Abasis.AI – AI Transformation Agency, on starting a high-tech AI journey without being overwhelmed
• Andrei Semeniuk, Cloud & AI Solution Engineer at EPAM Systems, demonstrating agentic AI in action, from Microsoft Copilot to multi-cloud production environments
• Sebastian Niehaus, CTO & Quant Researcher at SEKASA Technologies Ltd., discussing AI in commodity markets
• Massima Martina, Founder of massimamartina.art, exploring whether AI in art is a force for creation or devastation
A final Q&A, closing summary and cocktail reception with a closing fourchette (until 18:00) give participants space to deepen relationships and explore future collaborations.
