Assort Health Secures $50M to Transform Patient Phone Call Automation

Assort Health Secures $50M to Expand AI-Powered Patient Communication

Major Funding Boost for AI in Healthcare

Assort Health, a fast-growing startup specializing in AI-driven communication for specialty healthcare practices, has closed a $50 million Series B funding round at a valuation of $750 million, according to three sources familiar with the deal. The financing comes just four months after its $22 million Series A round, highlighting the strong investor interest in healthcare automation. Lightspeed Venture Partners is reported to have led the investment.

Automating Routine Front Desk Tasks

The company’s AI voice agents are designed to handle high-volume and repetitive patient calls—such as scheduling, cancellations, and frequently asked questions—that typically consume the time of front desk staff. By automating these processes, healthcare teams can redirect their focus toward complex or sensitive patient interactions that require human attention.

Growing Competition in AI-Driven Healthcare Services

Assort Health is not alone in this space. A number of AI startups have recently secured major funding rounds to tackle patient communication and administrative bottlenecks:

  • EliseAI announced a $250 million Series E last week, led by Andreessen Horowitz, pushing its valuation to $2.2 billion. The company provides automation services for both real estate and healthcare offices.

  • Hello Patient, another AI-powered assistant for medical practices, closed a $20 million Series A earlier this month at a $100 million valuation, with Scale Venture Partners leading the investment.

This surge in funding reflects a broader industry trend, as healthcare increasingly turns to AI-based solutions. Companies such as Abridge and Ambience Healthcare have already gained traction with AI-powered medical scribes, and investors now view patient communication as the next major frontier.

Targeting Specialty Care Practices

Assort Health focuses on small and mid-sized specialty care providers—such as orthopedic, physical therapy, OB-GYN, dermatology, and dentistry clinics—where long wait times and slow responses can lead patients to seek care elsewhere. Faster AI-driven interactions could help reduce patient attrition and improve practice efficiency.

Although the company’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) currently stands at just over $3 million, its rapid growth trajectory signals strong market demand, according to two sources familiar with its operations.

Founders Behind the Startup

Assort Health was co-founded two years ago by Jon Wang, a former medical student who pivoted from a career in medicine to entrepreneurship, and Jeff Liu, an ex-Facebook engineer.

Both Assort Health and Lightspeed Venture Partners have not yet provided official comments on the latest funding.
