The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is the national authority in Cyprus dedicated to supporting and promoting research, technological development, and innovation. Established in 1996 as the Research Promotion Foundation (RPF), RIF was created as a non-profit organization to enhance research activities and infrastructures in Cyprus. Over the years, RIF has played a pivotal role in developing national research programs and representing Cyprus in European and international initiatives. In 2018, it was renamed to its current title, reflecting its expanded mission to advance innovation in the country. RIF’s mission is to create the necessary conditions for the development of research, technology, and innovation in Cyprus, contributing to the competitiveness of the economy and fostering international cooperation. The Foundation values excellence, integrity, collaboration, and transparency, and its principles include innovation, extroversion, flexibility, efficiency, and effectiveness. RIF’s annual reports detail its activities and financial statements, submitted to the Parliament of Cyprus and made available to the public for transparency.
